Hidden Sphynx

This is a Gelli Plate print created by rolling acrylic paint on a plate made of gelatin. This is a very free-flowing way of printmaking where you're not sure what you're going to get. This is a monotype style of printing that creates a unique print every time, making each print one of a kind. For this print, I used a hand-cut sphynx cat stencil. The stencil was originally part of a two-stencil set, one for the details and one for the body of the cat. This print utilized the detail stencil leaving the body of the cat up to interpretation.
